CHIO Aachen CAMPUS meets StädteRegion Aachen: A big joint family festival at the Soers

Both events individually are already popular formats with great attraction potential for families: the Summer Festival of the StädteRegion Aachen and the Family Day of the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS. This year, the organizers are bringing their festivals together.

On August 24th, 2024, the StädteRegion Aachen and the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS are inviting guests to the world-famous CHIO Aachen showgrounds. There will be a varied program for the whole family at the Soers on this day. Highlights will certainly be the exhibition of the ADAC rescue helicopter, Christoph Europa 1, as well as a visit from the CHIO Aachen mascot, Karli. Visitors can also look forward to a large blue light area, a club mile and youth jumping competitions. In addition, the stage program with magicians and well-known children's song musicians is family-oriented, a bouncy castle area and the sports activity area of the Regiosportbund round off the program.

"This year, I am particularly looking forward to the joint summer festival of ALRV and StädteRegion Aachen, because we will experience top-class sport alongside games, fun and entertainment," says the Städteregionsrat, Dr. Tim Grüttemeier. And that's not all: "Technology enthusiasts will also get their money's worth on August 24, because together with the ADAC and the Rhein-Maas-Klinikum, we are inviting visitors to celebrate 50 years of air rescue with us. So whether you want to learn from emergency doctors, watch the dog rescue team in training or take a selfie with the helicopter crew, you should make a note of the date in your calendar now," recommends Grüttemeier.

Stefanie Peters, President of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein (ALRV), agrees. She emphasizes the good cooperation between the administration of the StädteRegion Aachen and the team of the ALRV, which is the organiser of the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS formats. "With the joint event, we are putting together a varied program for all families in our region. The offers complement each other perfectly and we are sure that it will be a unique day for everyone involved," says Peters and is already certain: "This is a classic win-win situation!"

All-day program

The youth jumping competitions start at 9 a.m., with the supporting program taking place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The official opening will be performed by representatives of the StädteRegion Aachen and the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS at 1 pm.
